Death Over Dinner: Jewish Edition is a warm, welcoming gathering centered around a shared meal and facilitated conversation. Our dinner table is a place to slow down, listen deeply, and engage in meaningful dialogue about end-of-life, grief, legacy, and what truly matters—held within the richness of Jewish tradition and community.

Created by rabbis, theologians, wellness professionals, and palliative care experts, Death Over Dinner: Jewish Edition invites participants to explore Jewish thought, ritual, and values surrounding death, dying, and mourning, while feeling supported and held in community.

This event is held and hosted at Hamakom, in partnership with SAYVA, and facilitated by Valley Chevra Kadisha, the first community Chevra Kadisha in Los Angeles.  Rabbi Camras will join us at the dinner and was instrumental in the origin and early supporter of Valley Chevra Kadisha.

SAYVA is a collaborative initiative focused on community, positive aging, and wellness. SAYVA partners include Fountainview of LA Jewish Health, HAMAKOM, Kol Tikvah, Temple Ahavat Shalom, Temple Judea, Temple Ramat Zion, and Valley Beth Shalom.

This community dinner is also generously supported by Mount Sinai Parks and Mortuaries.

Dinner will be vegetarian and is hosted by Hamakom: 7353 Valley Circle Blvd., West Hills, CA 91304
